JUAREZ, Chihuahua (KVIA) -- Ciudad Juarez is introducing a new resident to 'El Parque Central.' A new giraffe will now live where the deceased giraffe 'Modesto' lived for over 20 years.

The giraffe at a Juarez zoo died Wednesday. Modesto, the giraffe, was 22-years-old. The male giraffe became a towering symbol of the border city's resiliency, according to Ciudad Juarez officials.
