Former Idaho State superstar Jared Allen was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Thursday night at the NFL Honors ceremony

Antonio Gates, Jared Allen, Eric Allen and Sterling Sharpe have been voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the smallest induction class in 20 years following offseason rule changes meant to make it harder to get inducted.

Jared Allen, whose NFL path started with the Kansas City Chiefs, has been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. A pass rushing specialist, Allen went on to play six seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and finish his career with the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers. He racked up 136 career sacks, leading the NFL twice in that department.

The fifth time’s a charm for former Vikings defensive end Jared Allen. After narrowly missing out on the gold jacket in each of his previous years of eligibility, Allen’s wait finally ended on Thursday night when he was officially elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

However, these four players are icons in the game, from one of the best tight ends to ever play the game to one of the most ferocious pass-rushers ever to sack opposing quarterbacks. The honorees were unveiled during Thursday night’s NFL Honors ceremony in New Orleans.

Four new NFL legends are headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
