A group of parents opened James Irwin Charter High School in Harrison School District 2 in 2000 as a rigorous college preparatory school before growing to include an elementary and middle school.

Members of the community came out to speak on the renaming of James Blair Middle School during the Williamsburg-James City County School Board meeting held on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
