Hundreds of Milford High School students staged a walkout Friday in response to the school board's decision to restrict bathroom access amid conversations about gender and bathroom policies.

Morgan Clemmer is a junior at Colony High School and identifies as non-binary. They circulated a petition among students at their school calling for an all-gender restroom on campus.

Like other schools across the county, Northland High School has begun closing or restricting bathroom use to keep students from vaping in the stalls – and students say the practice is unfair.

Homewood-Flossmoor High School District 233 leadership described a bathroom and locker room stall setup similar to the system at District 230, but said they had not experienced the issues.
