Avast ye matey! Thursday is International Talk Like a Pirate Day, and the City of Conway celebrated in style, unveiling a new haunted pirate ship at the Conway Marina ahead of Halloween!

Alan Shope KMBC 9 News Reporter RAYMORE, Mo. — A well-known Halloween pirate ship in Independence has set sail for new waters. For years the Gonzales family set up the ship to celebrate Halloween.

For example, one of the new exhibits, a pirate ship floating in the marina, was built by construction services employee Darrell McDowell. It’s one of the new displays for Halloween 2024.

This pirate ship is apart of a big fundraiser. It sits on Morgan Mill Way. There is a huge walk through, with a jungle portion, water scene, a cave and of course the pirate ship.
