TikTok has a new filter that uses text-to-image AI technology. It’s called “AI greenscreen” and though the output is very basic, it shows how quickly this tech is becoming mainstream.

A ton of image results will appear as you type a word and browse over a wide selection of images. According to The Verge, the AI Greenscreen generates random portraits that are based on the input.

It’s worth noting that the images that TikTok’s AI generator produces are quite basic when compared to the output from notable text-to-image models, including DALL-E 2 and Google’s Imagen.
