We recently spoke to Google's Tulsee Doshi, director of product management for Gemini, to talk about the process of releasing Gemini 2.5, as well as where Google's AI models are going in the future.

Google has pushed out a shiny new AI model in the form of Gemini 2.5 Pro—and it's available for free. As with many recent AI model releases, the reasoning capabilities of the model are said to be the biggest upgrade here.

But the ramped-up release time frame appears to have come at a cost. Google has yet to publish safety reports for its latest models, including Gemini 2.5 Pro and Gemini 2.0 Flash, raising concerns that the company is prioritizing speed over transparency.
