The decision was made to remove them from service after senior gardaí were contacted by the manufacturer. Less than 70 cars – out of a total garda fleet of over 3,500 – are affected.

Gardaí and emergency services were rushed to the scene of the crash, involving a bus and two cars, at around 3:20pm on Frederick Street, Ashbourne, Co. Meath on Wednesday, July 9.
