More than 72 million Americans are expected to travel for the Fourth of July holiday. Some may be in for a rainy trip.

Severe storms are closing in on the Northeast and extreme heat is headed to the Midwest as Americans gear up to enjoy the long Fourth of July weekend.

It's a warm and muggy Fourth of July across Southeast Texas. As of this morning, temperatures are holding around 79°F, but thanks to high humidity near 96%, it feels closer to 87°F outside as we start out the Fourth.
