Garcia, who retired from the Dallas Police Department in 2024, is now under serious consideration to lead Fort Worth PD.

Of the 51 applicants, nine were interviewed in the semi-finalist round with four selected to move forward as finalists.

Garcia was one of four finalists named for the role of Fort Worth Police Chief. He left his position in Dallas for a role in Austin last year.

Finalists includes former Dallas, Gavelston Police Chiefs, current Fort Worth interim chief and LAPD deputy chief.
