Starting Tuesday, August 1, Fort Carson gates will go through a few new changes due to staffing and resourcing reductions.
The Mountain Post announced Tuesday that it would be closing one of its gates and decreasing the hours on two others.
Gates 5 and 6 will have new hours and Gate 19 at Fort Carson will close until further notice starting August 1.
Gate 1 will now be called "Freedom Gate" and it will honor Medal of Honor recipients. For the past 6 months, Fort Carson has been working on this project.
