Instagram owner Meta is expanding its Teen Accounts system and rolling it out to Facebook and Messenger. Teenagers using Instagram will be prevented from using some of its features without parental permission as part from an update to the app.

Instagram users under 16 won’t be able to livestream or unblur nudity in direct messages they’ve received without parental approval.

As per Meta's latest quarterly financial results, advertising accounts for more than 96 per cent of its revenue.
