Venezuelan migrants imprisoned for months in El Salvador under a U.S. immigration crackdown have reunited with their families

The Venezuelans were deported in March under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act, which gives a US president power to detain and deport natives or citizens of "enemy" nations without usual processes. They were accused of belonging to a gang, something many of the men's relatives and lawyers deny.

In the four months since it sent more than 230 Venezuelan men to a prison in El Salvador, the Trump administration has released almost no details about their cases or their living conditions.
