Jackie and Shadow, the bald eagle couple whose parenting journey is livestreamed, laid three eggs this year. One eaglet went missing from the nest on Thursday.

The Friends of Big Bear Valley confirmed Saturday, March 15, 2025, that the one of the three chicks in the nest did not make it through a heavy snow storm.

A winter storm may have been too much for a newly born eagle to handle in California. A local conservation group reports that a new eaglet appears to have passed away in Big Bear Lake, California.
