The singer, 55, arrived to the Grammy Awards red carpet on Sunday in an unconventional (yet conservative) ensemble: a fitted tuxedo to match her 8-year-old son, David Banda Mwale Ciccone Ritchie.

Banda is a common surname in Malawi, David's birthplace, akin to Smith in the U.S. David, which means "beloved" in Hebrew, was the 14th most popular boys' name in the U.S. last year.
