A draft Code of Conduct and Ethical Practice for the aged care sector in Australia was released this week and will be available for comment until February 2001.

A code of conduct and minimum standards of training is to be drawn up for health care assistants and care workers who look after the elderly in England.

To hold staff more accountable, a nationally consistent screening, register and code of conduct for all care worker sectors will be introduced, at a cost of $105.6 million.
