The Cleveland Guardians do not sound eager to change their nickname back to the "Indians" after President Donald Trump called for the franchise to go back to its previous moniker in a social media post over the weekend.

Cleveland's president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti said the club has had the chance to build its brand as the Guardians for the last four years.

Chris Antonetti, a Connecticut native and the team's president of baseball operations, responded on Sunday after Trump posted on his Truth Social site that the Cleveland should revert back to the Indians' nickname and that that Washington Commanders should return to the original Redskins' nickname.
