At last count, Changi racked up nearly 700 awards, superlatives, and honors. I was so jazzed to see Singapore Changi that I even added it to my official Where to Go in 2023 list.

Suhaimi Abdullah/Getty Images Changi was named this year's Airport of the Year in the annual World Airport Awards by Skytrax, based on customer surveys of over 550 airports across the globe.

The Changi Airport Group has awarded two contracts worth S$4.8 billion ($3.7 billion) for the construction of its biggest passenger terminal as Singapore seeks to tap into the travel boom.

The airport has won the top spot for 13 years in a row. Singapore Changi Airport and Hamad International Airport both received high rankings in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards.
