Cabrera served up a solo home run in the second inning but was otherwise sharp over his three frames while spotting 27 of his 46 pitches for strikes.

For essentially the past two months, Cabrera has been in control on the mound. He entered Sunday’s game with a 1.46 ERA (six earned runs in 37 innings) over his previous seven starts.

Cabrera will be in a boot for another two months and there was also some ligament damage associated with the May 13 play at Seattle, on an awkward slide at the plate.
