New NASA technology captures images of ancient lake reemergence from space: 'Developing one of the most detailed and comprehensive views of the planet'SWOT has been photographing the area and measuring water depths. In the ice age, Badwater Basin featured a 700-foot-deep lake, which has been extinct for 10,000 years and is now salt flats.
