Upon arriving at Lane’s home, Wilkins was choked and stabbed until she was no longer conscious, at which point Lane cut the baby girl – who Wilkins planned on naming Aurora – from the womb.

Ridley “rubbed the baby [girl] slightly then rolled it over to hear and see it taking a gasping breath,” the affidavit said. She died soon after. Ridley took his wife and the baby to the hospital.
