The Georgia Bureau Investigation (GBI) said it arrested a former north Georgia deputy who was shot during a struggle over a gun with a suspect for allegedly making false statements and violating his oath of office in connection with the incident.

A former Towns County deputy, Austin Bradburn, was arrested by the GBI for allegedly fabricating a story about being shot during a traffic stop. He faces charges of filing a false report and oath violation.
