Out with the oldspeak. In with President Trump’s newspeak — or else. That’s the apparent message as the Trump White House tries to punish a preeminent news outlet for its editorial decision-making.

The wire service said the decision stemmed from a style guidance to continue using the name Gulf of Mexico instead of Gulf of America.

The White House banned an Associated Press reporter from attending an executive-order signing in the Oval Office on Tuesday — in protest of the outlet’s style guidance on the Gulf of America, the news agency said.
