The last big change in the Android logo was in 2019, which was also the year the naming convention changed. Google used to give new Android versions names after desserts (Marshmallow, Oreo, Nougat).

It will probably be a few months before this new logo fully replaces the original, meaning we probably won’t see it as the Android Studio logo until sometime in 2023. Oh wow.
