According to Mishaal Rahman, the Android volume slider might change its height based on the device’s screen size. Google introduced the vertical volume slider with Android 9 back in 2018.

Google is also working to update the volume slider to match this new design. As you can see below, the volume slider in Android 16 will be less rounded and will have a thin rectangular handle.

While there’s still a lot we don’t know about Android 16 and the changes it will incorporate, it looks like we may see some design changes to both the back button and the volume slider.
