CLEVELAND American Greetings has agreed to sell its Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake properties to Cookie Jar Entertainment in a $195 million deal that will also include AG’s Sushi Pack property.

Beginning January 13, Strawberry Shortcake: Follow Your Berry Own Beat will travel to 32 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada including New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver and Toronto.

First introduced in 1980 by American Greetings, Strawberry Shortcake became one of the biggest licensing programs of its time, generating more than $1 billion in retail sales between 1980 and 1985.
