Audi has engineered a bonkers off-roader based on one of its many unassuming electric SUVs. This wild one-off concept started as a Q6 Sportback E-Tron, and then it received a complete makeover, which involved adding portal axles.

Audi looks poised to join in on the extreme off-road segment with its latest EV SUV concept. Known as the Audi Q6 E-Tron Off-Road, this portal axle-rocking beast takes things far beyond the brand’s typical Allroad treatment.

You may have seen pictures of the Audi Q6 e-tron off-road concept toward the end of last week when its maker previewed the ‘highly emotive’ and heavily modified prototype on social media. Now, with its dynamic reveal confirmed for the F.

The Q6 E-Tron Off-Road concept is based on the sleeker Q6 Sportback E-Tron body style. Currently, only the regular Q6 E-Tron is available to order in the U.S. It's available for the 2025 model year and is priced from $65,095, including a $1,295 destination charge.

Audi has revealed a new dual-motor electric off-road vehicle concept based on the Q6 E-tron that looks ready for a snowpocalypse. The automaker built a working prototype that lifts the vehicle by 6.3 inches and widens it by 9.8 inches, giving it a stance that wouldn’t be out of place if it appeared in Truck Country, USA.

Audi teased a more rugged EV in 2023 with the Activesphere concept, which was based on the same Premium Platform Electric (PPE) as the Q6 E-Tron. PPE, which brings high-power charging hardware pioneered in the Audi E-Tron GT to more EVs, is also shared with the A6 E-Tron sedan and the electric version of the Porsche Macan.
