The Seattle Seahawks have lost a longtime staffer, and former head coach Pete Carroll is the reason why. On Friday morning, it was reported by NFL insider Albert Breer that Carroll was hiring away Seahawks Vice President of coaching operations Matt Capurro.

Pete Carroll is back in the NFL as a head coach just one year after getting fired by the Seattle Seahawks. He has joined Tom Brady and the Las Vegas Raiders, who have their work cut out for them competing in a loaded AFC West division.

There will be a new linebackers coach in Las Vegas. But he's not new to Pete Carroll. John Glenn spent six seasons as the linebackers coach in Seattle under Carroll from 2018-23 and spent last season with the Washington Commanders as assistant special teams coach.

Seahawks will undeniably possess interest in following Carroll’s tenure with the Raiders closely. Carroll was historically in charge of the Seahawks for 13 seasons. He compiled a record of 137-89-1, winning Super Bowl XLVIII in 2013.

Seahawks VP of coaching operations Matt Capurro is leaving the team after 15 years to reunite with Pete Carroll and rejoin the Raiders. Was with Carroll at USC in 2009 and in Seattle from '10-23, and worked for Al Davis in Oakland from '04-08. Valuable right-hand man to the HC.

Carroll interviewed Miami Dolphins quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator Darrell Bevell for his OC vacancy. Tom Pelissero was first on the report. Bevell served as Carroll’s OC and offensive play-caller for seven seasons (2011-2017) in Seattle, winning a Super Bowl together in 2013.
