A rare winter storm churned across the U.S. Gulf Coast on Tuesday (January 21), bringing heavy snow, ice and wind gusts to a region where flurries are unusual, while much of the United States remained in a deep freeze.

The US South is digging out from one of the worst snow storms in 130 years.  This is video from Houston where they got up to 3 inches of snow. A site near Pensacola, Florida may have received close to 10 inches.
