Super Bowl losers have historically had a tumultuous season after their loss. Since 1987, only the Bills (1991-1993) and NE (won in 2018) have made it back to the Super Bowl after losing the year prior. After losing Super Bowl LV to the Buccaneers, the Chiefs went on to lose at home in the AFC Championship game to the Cincinnati Bengals in 2021.

The Kansas City Chiefs already are looking toward a future of big changes following their blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.

Kansas City is set to compete for its third consecutive title against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on February 9. A win over the Eagles would make the Chiefs the NFL’s first-ever back-to-back-to-back champions and set a new standard for excellence in the league that would be hard to replicate by future dynasties.
