The National Hurricane Center on Monday increased its forecast chances a system already dumping rain on Florida could develop into the season’s next tropical depression or storm.

The hatched areas on the National Hurricane Center's tropical outlook map indicate "areas where a tropical cyclone — which could be a tropical depression, tropical storm or hurricane — could develop," said National Hurricane Center Deputy Director Jamie Rhome.

The chance of tropical development is slowly increasing. INVEST 93-L is an area of low pressure near the east coast of Florida. The National Hurricane Center gives this a 40% chance of developing into a tropical system this week.
