It took the Vancouver Canucks a couple of months to negotiate and finally pull off a trade with one of their feuding stars. As the heat between Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller continued, both found themselves among potential trade pieces for the Canucks.

"The immediate notion for a Sabres package for Pettersson has to include Dylan Cozens because Vancouver would need a center in return," Harrington wrote. "Trading Bowen Byram, a British Columbia native who played junior hockey for the Vancouver Giants, would be more troublesome."

Boeser has had the most success of his Canucks tenure when riding shotgun with Miller. Miller’s playmaking ability down low was an excellent fit with Boeser’s finishing ability from the inner slot. With Miller gone, the risk and uncertainty around committing a six- or seven-year contract to Boeser increases.
