An inability to score runs has caused the Cleveland Guardians to fall rapidly in the American League Central standings.
Cleveland appeared poised to snap their skid when Steven Kwan’s RBI double in the eighth broke a scoreless tie. The rally began with Austin Hedges’ single that snapped an 0-for-10 slump, followed by a walk to Brayan Rocchio. Kwan, aiming for his third hit of the afternoon, then drove in pinch runner Daniel Schneemann with a double into the corner.
MLB.com released its updated Top-100 prospects list, and a trio of Cleveland's young players appeared, and two of them were featured in the ranking's highest risers. The players featured in their rankings are Travis Bazzana (No. 16), Chase DeLauter (No. 35), Angel Genao (No. 72), C.J. Kayfus (No. 75), and Jaison Chourio (No. 72).
CHICAGO (WKBN) — The Cleveland Guardians reinstated first baseman Kyle Manzardo from the Family Medical Emergency List on Thursday. In a corresponding roster move, the Guardians have optioned outfielder Jhonkensy Noel to Triple-A Columbus.
