Newcastle manager Eddie Howe challenged his players to win more silverware after making themselves "legends" by ending the club's 56-year trophy drought with a 2-1 Carabao Cup final win against Liverpool.

Liverpool delivered one of their worst performances of the season in the Carabao Cup final, with Federico Chiesa’s stoppage-time goal not enough to prevent Newcastle from getting their hands on the trophy thanks to efforts either side of half-time by Dan Burn and Alexander Isak.

It's safe to say that in the sheer stress of seeing out those final stages, I've lost fingernails and possibly years from my life but at Newcastle United, we never make it easy. Hopefully this can be the first domino that falls and success will continue to come to this club. Seventy years of waiting and the clock has been reset.
