Early in the 2025 MLB offseason, the Milwaukee Brewers made an expected trade, sending All-Star closer Devin Williams to the New York Yankees for starting pitcher Nestor Cortes and infield prospect Caleb Durbin.

The New York Yankees have a hole at third base and could use the trade deadline to fill it. However, the Milwaukee Brewers could outbid them for the perfect option.
