You may not have heard of the first woman to be named best songwriter at the Grammys before - but you may well have sung along to one of her hits. Amy Allen is behind a string of pop chart-toppers including Sabrina Carpenter's Espresso and Please Please Please,

Amy Allen made history at the 67th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (Feb. 2), becoming the first woman to win for songwriter of the year, non-classical. The category is still fairly new: This was just the third year it was presented.

Allen was one of four women nominated in the category, along with Jessi Alexander, Jessie Jo Dillon and RAYE, as well as Edgar Barrera.
