I think the exhibit it was in ended on April 4. I may be wrong but as suggested, you can check the website to see what is on display during the time you are in Manhattan. I think it is well worth the trip to the museum no matter what is on display. I believe "The Subway" is part of the Whitney's collection, but they do change pieces every few months.
