We visited here in February and there were few tourists. We got the all-inclusive ticket but it actually is not all-inclusive and we bought the 'southern pyramid' ticket in addition. This beautifully…Full review by Anne D

Plenty to see, we could have spent much more time here! While the step pyramid is impressive, it’s not quite as stunning as the Giza pyramids. However, the surrounding temples and tombs more than mak…Full review by bjkahansen
Hi, we are doing Giza (including entrance to Khufu pyramid, Sphinx, a camel ride, Solar boat museum) but all on same day as Saqqara and Memphis. Assuming there's time, How much time would you allow for Saqqara alone? and Memphis? Thanks in advance for your input
A:
For Saqqara I would say 1:30 to 2 hours. For Memphis I can’t tell you because I didn’t go.
Hi!!! I want to go to Saqqara and Dashur. Which mastabas/pyramids should I see for covering a full day trip? What can I visit with the entrance ticket? Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the delay in responding. My only advice is that Saquara (sp?) is way more interesting than the Pyramids at Giza. We climbed down into one of the tombs. It was exhilarating. Plus, we just read another tomb was just uncovered. Bon voyage!
Hi! I read about the new openings as of the last few months, is this the case? Are the 'new' tombs open to public?

It depends on which "new tomb" you're talking about. If you're talking about Tomb of Mehu, which was discovered back in the 1940s but not opened to public until late September, then yes you can visit it now (as I did back in Nov). Make sure you buy the ticket for "Nobles' tombs" which includes Tomb of Mehu. See details in my review dated 11 November on Saqqara. If you're talking about another tomb also in Saqqara where they found mumufied cats, I don't think it's open to public yet. On the day we visited Saqqara in November, we saw an army of foreign embassy people in fancy VIP cars with their country's flags going to this tomb for an "VIP preview" organised by the Egyptian government - I remember reading it in the news so you may want to google it. Hope this helps.
What are the mobility requirements here? How far do you have to walk? Are surfaces uneven? When descending into the pyramids, is the path or stairs difficult or easy?
A:
sakara is an oldest pyramid so you cannot climb on it. path is OK OK.
