The trip over and back was a great ride on the boat. It was loaded with illegals which was very uncomfortable and they were not the most polite people be around. I would not go over there again becau…Full review by Ron T

What a great experience! I wasn’t able to secure a 4WD vehicle so my only option was to run it. Biking isn’t an option either. It’s just over 11 miles from the parking spot (where others were letting…Full review by eric l

Are tours offered in late October?? Will be going October 21-22 and I can’t drive a stick so I don’t want to rent a Jeep. Will walk if I have to but wanted to see if tours are available and how to book one?

My mistake, I meant not standard, all are automatic.
Hello there, Do you have contact information for your friend to schedule a tour? My Fiance and I have been trying to figure out traveling for our wedding. I spoke to the Police Department and they advised that a permit is not required, as it is just the two of us with a priest/pastor (which I have not located yet). However, I just read that it's kind of difficult to get to the light house/beach area by foot or regular vehicle. Thank you for your post, it was helpful.

We went out on a tour that picked us up at the Information Center. You can rent a Jeep and drive out if you’re adventurous, but we were too timid for that.
I am planning to take a hike the lighthouse! How many miles is it from the gatehouse, one way? And how strenuous, 1-10? And how long did it take? I am an avid hiker and a marathon runner, but I like to be well informed and prepared. Thank you.
Do we need another permit beside the beach permit to drive to great point on a Sunday in August?

The ranger charges a fee on top of the beach sticker, I think it was $38/visit. They make sure you air-down properly and have air hoses available to re-inflate your tires when you are done.
